One of our favorite food trucks shares some of our vision – helping the community. During a recent appearance at Twin Falls Subaru, we spotted a flyer on the window of the Magic Valley Food Dude’s trailer stating their have a Community Food Fund. Asking Andy about it was heart-warming, as he explained the genesis of the fund, along with the impact it has on Magic Valley residents.

Andy and Tiffany started Magic Valley Food Dude in August 2023. Andy worked in the childcare industry for over 20 years and has been a business owner for 4 of them. Tiffany has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, and is the General Manager for the Holiday Inn Express in Twin Falls. Andy started getting serious about BBQ and experimenting with different cooking techniques over a decade ago, and has always loved the way food can bring people together. The purpose behind creating Magic Valley Food Dude is to provide top quality food while being as community minded as possible.

The Community Fund happened naturally. Andy and Tiffany have given meals out since the beginning to people that needed them. Other programs exist where customers can purchase meals at restaurants for those in need & there’s a lot of enthusiasm and support for funds such as these. Andy and Tiffany desired to establish a comparable program where funds are not only retained until they’re required, but every public contribution is also matched by The Food Dude, thereby extending the reach of this fund even more.

To date, over $250 has been donated to the fund, by the community, and has been matched 100% by the Food Dude. This has been used to help feed a variety of people: kids, single parents, young couples, and anyone else down on their luck. At some point, everyone struggles financially; everyone deserves a hot meal and no-one should go hungry. As a community, we have the ability to give a little to make a big difference, and that’s the idea behind the Community Fund. We are thankful to have other members of the Twin Falls/Magic Valley community on-board with helping when possible. Tiffany & Andy are shining examples of what happens when a small idea takes hold.
