I Don't Regret Buying A Subaru
Shopping for a new car often means spending more time with salespeople trying to sell you a car than actually with the vehicle. However, as Subaru is ranked as the best mainstream car brand, it comes as no shock that customers love their purchase and are happy to tell you why. Whether it’s their obsession with the all-wheel drive rally tales of the WRX or the thousands of miles driving their children around to extracurricular events in their Forester, a Subaru customer sees their vehicle as a convenience rather than a burden.
A Special Article About A Special WRX
Bozi Tatarevic is a racing mechanic and former motoring journalist. He recently wrote an op-ed for The Autopian, which is kind of a love letter to how much he loves his Subaru WRX and why he doesn’t have a single regret about buying it a number of years ago. He does a lot of driving to different race tracks and events around the country, so his 2016 Subaru WRX, which he purchased brand new in late 2015, has racked up more than 200,000 miles with him behind the wheel. Some of those miles have been on race tracks, and lots have been on the highways of America.
Bozi’s Words
“I was always the type to chase used cars and projects, and much of my earlier writing work revolved around fixing broken cars. All of my new car experiences were very short as they either happened through week-long loans or over a couple of days on a new car launch. A combination of getting fed up with keeping my projects running and just wanting to have a car with modern features led me on the hunt for a new car in the fall of 2015. I wanted a reliable daily driver that was fun so I settled on a new WRX and started reaching out to dealers and negotiating. I ended up with a base WRX from a local North Carolina dealer.”
A Generally Positive Ownership
While Bozi has had mostly positive experiences with his 2016 WRX, there was a rough situation when a chair on the highway took out his front bumper, radiator, and condenser. Luckily, no one was hurt. Since then, his ownership has been relatively quiet and easy, save for some routine maintenance items.
200,000 Miles & Counting
“The WRX has taken me on trips all across the eastern seaboard and took me to some of my very first races as a professional racing mechanic, along with vacation adventures down the coasts to places like Georgia and Florida. Most of these trips were uneventful and even now as it has crossed the 200,000 mile mark it still gets the same fuel economy that I saw in those early days.”
A Useful Sidekick
As a sedan with Subaru Symmetrical all-wheel drive, a BOXER turbocharged 4-cylinder, and a manual gearbox, Bozi has loved his WRX’s versatility, fuel mileage, and overall performance. He has used it for everything from track days to hauling a full-size mock-up of an engine in the trunk to drive home. It’s easy to see how much he loves his car but also how much fun he has had with his WRX as his trusty sidekick, so to speak.
Customer Loyalty
This story is similar to the millions of other Subaru owners who love their cars. Sometimes, it’s the performance; other times, it’s the usability, and it is always the safety. According to J.D. Power and Associates, 61.1% of all Subaru customers are so loyal to the brand that they come back to purchase another Subaru either for themselves or a child. It takes a lot to build a car that can take the daily abuse of 200,000 or more miles while also keeping passengers safe and comfortable. Bozi doesn’t regret buying his Subaru, and we at Twin Falls Subaru are willing to bet that you won’t either.
